Here are a few of the conference speakers and workshop leaders:

Paul Muller of Full Belly Farm-Along with Andrew Brait, Judith Redmond, and Dru Rivers, Paul Mueller owns and runs Full Belly Farm, a 200-acre certified organic farm located in the beautiful Capay Valley of Northern California.  Full Belly's system includes: growing and marketing over 80 different crops; providing year-round employment for farm labor; using cover crops that fix nitrogen and provide organic matter for the soil; developing innovative marketing strategies; and planting habitat areas for beneficial insects and wildlife.

Martha Arguello of Physicians for Social Responsibility-Martha Arguello has served for the past 32 years in the non-profit sector as an advocate, community organizer, and coalition builder. She joined Physicians for Social Responsibility-Los Angeles in 1998 to launch the environmental health programs, and became Executive Director in November 2007. She is committed to making the credible voice of physicians a powerful instrument for transforming California and our planet into a more peaceful and healthy place.

Lupe Martinez of Center for Race Poverty and the Environment-Since Lupe began working in the San Joaquin Valley fields in the 1960's he has worked tirelessly, loyally, and passionately organizing farm workers for the United Farm Workers side-by-side Cesar Chavez.  He currently works for Center for Race Poverty and the Environment as their Director of Organizing.

Naomi Starkman of Civil Eats-Naomi Starkman is a founder and editor of Civil Eats. She is a food policy media consultant to Consumers Union and others. Naomi served as the Director of Communications & Policy at Slow Food Nation ’08 and has been a media consultant to The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, GQ and WIRED magazines.  She is the co-founder of  Kitchen Table Talks, a local food forum in San Francisco, and a board member of 18 Reasons, a nonprofit connecting community through food.
